aS-Featured: I'm Not The Only One

One who reads, writes. As promised, We keep bringing to you 'aS featured' where we publish select ‘arbit speculations’ submitted by our readers to us. Chaitanya Krish speculates on his 'imagined' experience. Do you think you might have some arbit speculation that might be worth featuring? Send it in to We're waiting, readers and writers!

"May I come in Sir..??"
That voice brought me back to the classroom. It was alive, like a symphony, only starting with a crescendo and never coming down. It had a certain purity and an undefined  rhythm to it. It was the voice of an angel.
She was searching for a seat anxiously and  that's when our eyes met. With a half smile on my face, and anticipation in my mind, I signaled her to sit in the empty seat beside me, with my eyes.  The class was almost half empty. She could have sat anywhere in the class. She had no reason to accept my awkward invitation. But, when you want something with all of your heart , the universe conspires and brings it to you. Now my relationship with the universe was a bumpy one. The universe usually screwed me every time it got a chance, but that day, it chose not to.  She smiled silently and came towards me and took the seat beside me. My heart was beating slower and faster, the same time. I had butterflies in my stomach, who refused to settle down.
She was dressed in white. Her hair was curly, slightly wet with drops of rain. She wore spects, maroon and black rimmed. Everything about her left me speechless. The moment she walked in I knew, this was whom I was waiting for my whole life, and for her the wait was more than worthy. It was funny that I felt I missed her, even though we never met. She was that creature, God carefully designed to steal hearts.
I didn't realize that I was staring at her.
That was when the professor barked," The blackboard is in front of you".
"Thanks for nothing " I thought.

Usually, when you meet someone, You say Hi or something like that. But her, she needed no words. She needed no introduction. It was like we knew each other for a long time, but only meeting now. It was as if we had an appointment, and fate decided to bring us together. It was strange that we were strangers, but, she knew everything about me, and I about her.

I loathed this classes with all my heart, wishing it would be over soon. But that was before this angel stepped in. God, how I wished this class would never end. I was never so happy and never so sad. Happy that she was beside me right at that moment, sad that the moments were gonna soon end. Time is cruel. It's a mule when you want it to be a goddamn horse, and a goddamn bullet when you want it to be a snail.

The class was ending minute by minute. I only had ten more minutes left. I was still in the magic of her presence, which locked you down and made you go "gibber gibber".
Five more minutes: Still nothing but gaping at her.
Two more minutes: Professor says," We'll meet next week ".
Times Up: People wait for something all their life, too afraid to act upon it, when the right time comes. Year after year, they live the life of the dead, never actually realizing. They go to bed every night regretting, that they never took the chance, asking themselves "What If.. ??", not knowing the answer because they never tried in the first place.

Fuck this shit.. I don't want to become an old bat filled with regret, cursing myself for the rest of my life, for not being able to talk to the one person I was supposed to talk to.  So, I went full retard, and did the most insane thing. I bent down to kiss her on the cheek. To my greatest surprise and bliss, she returned the kiss.
I was about to ask her for her number.

That's when a loud bang on the door woke me up. It was my wingee. "Hey Asshole, Where did you put the cycle..??"
Now I don't remember how she looked. I didn't ask for her number either. I didn't know where she lived. I remember her sweet perfume, her glorious curls, her magical smile, but not her face. Damn, How much I miss her face..!!

I know it was a dream. Now all I'm left with, is imagination. I wonder who she was, what she looked like.. And even though you may  say " You need to get over this insanity..!!",

You may say, I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one.
